When I checked the Tommy Hilfiger website, it seemed an XL would be too small, more of a 14/16 and I wear 18/20. But they arrived today and fit perfectly! Very comfortable. The material feels wonderful, and has a lot of stretch, so I guess it could still be a good fit for a size 14. The length is nice, too (I'm 5'10"). The shirt is also stretchy and comfortable, but as such, very form-fitting.
