The cons: Overpriced. Too lightweight to provide warmth in winter (some say the lighter colors are a bit transparent). After some months of wear and laundering, the fabric pills and develops small beads. I picked out a size too big because I would normally wear a medium with anything else but this medium is a little frumpy on my 5'4 frame. That's my fault though and no big deal cause I could have exchanged it for a small. The reason I'm knocking off two stars is because the inside tie (a great idea!) ripped clean off when I was just sitting down. Keep in mind, this robe is too big for me. Maybe I had the inside tie too tight, I don't know, but I figure it's there to be secure. It really pains me to give this robe an average review because it's beautiful and soft and I wanted to love it, but $98 is just too much to spend on a robe that's going to fall apart in the first week. Very well made and so very comfortable. I'm 5' 8" and this robe falls approx. 2" above my ankle, a perfect length in my opinion. It runs true to size but is roomy without being oversized. Three-quarter sleeves with plenty of room. I purchased a robe very-very similiar to this one at a high end department store for twice the price and this one is still my favorite. It's also very similiar to a robe sold through Victoria's Secret, but this one is better quality. I ordered the gray and liked it so much that I ordered another one in the black. Flattering fit with casual sexy drape and far from being a "frumpy" robe. Light enough for warm weather and and yet warm enough to wear in a Michigan winter with a nice pair of lounging pjs. You won't be disappointed. 0 |
